DESCRIPTION:Do you have experience with hypertrophic dyschromia? Hypertrophic dyschromia is a type of discolored\, raised scar  that develops after injuries\, (especially burns)\, characterized by abnormal pigmentation (both hypo- and hyperpigmentation). Due to being sometimes associated with military service\, it is eligible for funding through the Department of Defense’s Peer-Reviewed Medical Research Program. \nIf you have experienced this\, your story and experience could be of service in reviewing federal grant proposals to fund research into this understudied condition. Please contact NEA’s Associate Director\, Grassroots Advocacy at nora@nationaleczema.org by no later than Monday\, May 11th to learn more.

SUMMARY:State Proclamations for Eczema Awareness Month: Virtual Gathering
DESCRIPTION:A state proclamation is a formal announcement by a state government of the significance of an event or cause. Last year\, seven states officially proclaimed October as Eczema Awareness Month\, following the advocacy of NEA Ambassadors. Can we add your state to the list for 2026? \nJoin us for a special advocacy virtual fathering on Wednesday\, June 17 at 4pm PT/7pm ET. During this interactive virtual training session\,  you will learn about what a state proclamation for Eczema Awareness Month is\, why proclamations are an important way to advocate\, and how to request one in your own home state. By the end of the call\, you will be well on your way to submitting your request and securing your own state proclamation for Eczema Awareness Month! \nThis meeting will be recorded and the recording will be emailed to all event registrants following the event. \nZoom Meeting Link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86373498039?pwd=9ahfI6a6PeH8opA9mF0MSoeeKcFh6e.1&from=addon \nPlease contact NEA’s Associate Director\, Grassroots Advocacy\, Nora Eigenbrodt at nora@nationaleczema.org with any questions.
